Sports
Barnard women are members of over 30 club sports teams, which are created, organized, and largely financed by the students. All Columbia University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and neighbor members who possess a valid Dodge Fitness Center membership may join. The teams compete in venues and in sports at levels that often surpass students' expectations of what a small college in New York City could offer. For example, students can participate in our sailing and water polo clubs or more terrestrial clubs like the equestrian, hiking, and ski and snowboard teams. Furthermore, club teams are organized on recreational, instructional, and competitive levels; activities range from informal play to intercollegiate competition and participation in local, regional, and national tournaments. The time commitment varies from team to team, as does the level of structure. Some teams have official coaches, while others are led by captains. Whatever your interest, as a Barnard student-athlete you can either join an existing club team or start your own. Following is a list of currently active co-ed or women's club sports:
