Autumn
2009
September 2009
I am thrilled to welcome
you to Barnard College’s Admissions web site. Our pages
are rich with history
about the college, statistics
on our student body, application
instructions for next year and more. It is a great place
to start searching and you’ll find everything from links
to our course
catalogue to directions
to campus.
First, please be sure to add your name to our mailing list so that we can be sure to notify you of upcoming on-campus
Open Houses, staff who will be traveling to visit you at
your schools and reminders about application deadlines.
Applications for Fall 2010 are being sent to students on
our mailing list. You may also download an application for admission, financial aid forms and all
instructions here.
If you are not familiar
with Barnard, we recommend that you start surfing around
the "About
Barnard" section. We've tried to provide you with
a lot of information - about academic life at Barnard and
within the Columbia University community, about life outside
of the classroom, and about how students use New York City's
tremendous resources. Peruse the course
catalog (requires Acrobat Reader), or uncover our history. Please wander
through our virtual
tour, and read our frequently
asked questions. If you are starting to plan your college
visits, your trip to the New York area won't be complete
without a visit to our campus on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
This fall we will be visiting
many high schools across the country and throughout the
world, so take a look at our travel schedule. We
hope that you will be able to connect with us wherever you
are living.
Even if you can't join us for an event, know that we are
only a click away if you have questions.
In the meantime, I wish
you a very successful 2009-2010 school year. On behalf of
my staff, we look forward to helping you discover Barnard
College!
