File storage

For a number of years, the College has provided a Novell file server named Artemis for faculty and staff to securely store documents.  Every user is given a private folder with 300MB of storage. Many departments also have shared folders with 2GB of storage.  All files on Artemis are backed up daily.

The same username is used for your Artemis account as for your Barnard account, though it is a separate account and the password may not be the same.  If you do not know your Novell password or need access to a particular shared folder, please contact the BCIT Service Desk.  Novell passwords must be changed every six months.  If you do not change it when prompted, you may be locked out of your account, and will have to contact the Service Desk to have your account reset.

Over the course of the 2012-13 academic year, BCIT is migrating all users off of the Novell system and onto a new, faster, more spacious Windows file server.  The migration is taking place department by department.  If your department has already been migrated, you will not need a separate username and password to access your files.  However, you may still need to log into Artemis to access any files shared with departments that have not yet been moved.  Please contact the BCIT Service Desk if you have questions.
