Short films about women of courage and conviction spark conversations about leadership.

The third annual Athena Film Festival brought industry leaders to Barnard’s campus for a weekend in February to celebrate the achievements of women in the film and allied industries and discuss the challenges they face.

 

“There’s been a dramatic transformation,” says Professor Tina Campt. “There’s been the transformation of going from nothing to something.” She’s talking about the Africana Studies Program, which she directs—and which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
