Frequently Asked Questions about the Senior Fund

Why should I give?

As you consider your donation to the Senior Fund, remember that this is a great opportunity to demonstrate your love and appreciation for Barnard, and a way to perpetuate the quality of a Barnard education and the time-honored traditions we cherish for the classes following in our footsteps.

How can I give to the Senior Fund?

Making a gift to the Senior Fund is easy!

  • Give online and be sure to check off the "Senior Fund"
  • Call (212) 854-2001 to give over the phone.
  • Send your gift to: Senior Fund, 222 Milbank (please include your name and phone number).
  • Give at the Senior Fund table and Senior Fund events.

Where is my donation going?

A vote by the class decided that the Senior Class Gift this year will go to support the "Bear Essentials" Fund. The "Bear Essentials" Fund helps disadvantaged Barnard students afford the "start-up" costs of college not covered by traditional financial aid, such as sheets, towels, and winter coats. Your gift will help the next generation of Barnard women get the tools they need to succeed.

Can I give in honor of someone who inspires me?

When you think back on your time at Barnard, was there one person or place that really made you feel special or inspired? Honor a faculty member, administrator, department, or on-campus organization with your gift to the Senior Fund! Include their information with your donation and we will send them a certificate to let them know that you gave in their honor.

How much should I give?

All donations, big and small, are welcomed. This is an opportunity to show your appreciation for Barnard College. We are asking our classmates to consider making a gift of $20.12 in recognition of the Class of 2012. With a gift of $50 you can join the Barnard Fund Society. Support at all levels will help make a difference for future generations of Barnard women, so please give!
