Parents’ giving contributes significantly to Barnard. Of the annual, unrestricted dollars raised in fiscal year 2009-2010, 13 percent was comprised of gifts from parents.

Parent Recognition

Each and Every Gift Makes a Difference

A list of all donors, except those who prefer to remain anonymous, is published annually online (Parents may activate an account in the Alumnae Network to view). Additionally, a list of donors who made gifts of $1,000 or more is included in the fall issue of Barnard Magazine. Special recognition is given to members of The Barnard Fund Society and The Parents Fund Council.

The Barnard Fund Society

Membership in The Barnard Fund Society is based on unrestricted giving of $1,889 or more during a given fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). The 1889 Society acknowledges the founding of Barnard College in 1889.

Levels of Giving

Platinum Level: $50,000+
Gold Level: $25,000-$49,999
Silver Level: $10,000-$24,999
Bronze Level: $5,000-$9,999
The 1889 Society: $1,889-$4,999

The Barnard Fund Scholars Program

By making a gift of $10,000 or more to The Barnard Parents Fund, a donor can fund a one-year scholarship for an individual student. The Barnard Fund Scholars Program makes every effort to connect students with the donors who support their education.

Pacesetter: $5,000+
Sustaining: $1,000 - $4,999

Parents who make a gift of $1,889 or greater will also be recognized in The Barnard Fund Society.
