About the Project
The Diana Center encompasses the promise of Barnard College, an institution dedicated to the education of remarkable young women. The building’s transparency, flow, and overall design encourage the Barnard community to interact, to exchange ideas, and to engage in rigorous and creative thinking.
Ultimately, the Diana Center enables Barnard’s long tradition of excellence in the liberal arts to continue and thrive through expanded academic, cultural, and community programs. Beyond providing critically needed space – an additional 70,000 square feet – the Diana’s state-of-the-art facilities reinforce the outstanding teaching and learning that take place here.

We hope that the building will mediate between the scale of Barnard's existing buildings and the scale of the city, recognizing Barnard's multiple histories and encouraging Barnard’s forward-looking education.
