In December, President Obama nominated Judge Claire Cecchi '86 to the U.S. District Court. This week, the Senate confirmed Cecchi's nomination in a unanimous vote.
Cecchi was born in New York City and after graduating from Barnard, attended Fordham University's law school. She served as a federal magistrate, handling motions and other proceedings, since 2006. Prior to that, she worked for 14 years in private practice, primarily as a civil litigator, and had been assistant corporate counsel for New York City.
