New ratings system commends Barnard for efforts to strengthen outcomes for students

Internationally-recognized political science professor discusses her research with domestic and foreign outlets

The White House today announced acclaimed philosopher and novelist Rebecca Newberger Goldstein '74 and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri '89 were named among ten distinguished recipients of the 2014 National Humanities Medal. President Barack Obama will confer the medal in a Sept. 10 ceremony in the East Room of The White House.  

Senior Emily-Anne Rigal, founder of the anti-bullying organization, published Flawd, a fun, illustrated guide on "how to stop hating yourself, others, and the things that make you who are you."

 The Columbia University Science Fiction Society president shares her love of physics, fantasy novels, and "nerd culture."
