The Architecture Department at Barnard College, Columbia University is seeking a full-time faculty member to begin August 1, 2014. Appointment may be as 1) assistant professor, tenure track OR 2) assistant professor of professional practice with the possibility of renewable terms.
The department is seeking candidates with expertise and/or new ideas on teaching architecture at an undergraduate, liberal arts level. The position is available to qualified scholars producing original and exceptional research in architecture or to designers and architects with outstanding creative practices. Teaching responsibilities will include design studios, seminars and lectures in Architecture. The Architecture Department at Barnard administers the Barnard and Columbia College Architecture Program, serving undergraduate liberal arts majors and non-majors from both colleges.
Candidates should have a professional degree or a Ph.D. in Architecture, and some prior experience in teaching architectural history/theory and/or architectural design.
