THE NEXUS PROJECT
IN PROGRESS
WELCOME
Thank you for visiting these pages, which are dedicated to one of the most ambitious and exciting projects to take place on the Barnard campus. This Web site will develop over time to chart the evolution of the Nexus, the planned 70,000 square-foot mixed-use building currently underway.
The building will serve as both a center of student life and activity and a home to several of the College’s showcase programs, including art, architecture, and performance. Designed by the architecture firm of Weiss/Manfredi, the Nexus is supremely functional and aesthetically pleasing, and it has already won an award from the New York Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. The Nexus will be built on the site of the current McIntosh Center, where a space will be dedicated to honor the legacy of President Millicent McIntosh.
