Greetings, Barnard Parents!
Dorothy Denburg Dean of the College
Welcome to the start of another academic year; this is my favorite time of
the year. I am excited to see the Barnard community grow as the members of
the Class of 2013 join our returning students and new transfer students on
campus. This year is particularly notable because our entire family -
students, faculty, alumnae, parents, friends and staff - will soon celebrate
the opening of our new multi-use building, The Diana Center, and our lovely
re-landscaped grounds.
I am fortunate to love my work at the College in part because I am a proud
Barnard alumna who believes that the College changed my life in dramatic and
positive ways, but mainly because I love to meet and get to know Barnard
students - your daughters.
Pages on this web site are designed to provide you with information and
insight into Barnard's distinctive community. We hope you will visit the
College website often and use the links provided on this webpage as a
resource throughout the year. You might find the Parent
Handbook, the latest
Parent Newsletter, and the Academic Calendar to be particularly helpful.
We encourage parents to take an active role in the College, whether you
choose to volunteer on The
Parents Fund Council or support Barnard's educational excellence by giving to the College in other ways. There are
many opportunities to get involved in the Barnard community no matter where
you live. The choice is yours.
As always, I invite your comments and questions
(deansoffice@barnard.edu) and I hope that
this academic year will be especially happy and rewarding for your daughter.
Best wishes, Dorothy Denburg
