Academic Advising
The Dean of Studies provides a strong academic advising program to support students in their studies.

Athletics
Women at Barnard College have many opportunities to pursue athletic interests both at Barnard and within Columbia University.

College Activities Office
The College Activities Office provides club and programming advisement, ongoing student center services, leadership programs, and campus-wide programs. Located in the McIntosh Student Center, its purpose is to enrich the overall educational experience for students through the promotion of social, cultural, intellectual, recreational, and student governance programs.

Disability Services
The Office of Disability Services (ODS) serves students with visual, mobility and hearing impairments and students with hidden disabilities such as chronic medical conditions, learning disabilities and psychiatric disabilities. ODs works with other administrators and members of the faculty to assist students with disabilities in participating in college activities, securing financial aid, scheduling classes and examinations, and planning careers.

HEOP
Barnard participates in the New York State Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), which offers support services to meet the needs of students who are economically disadvantaged. Students receive counseling and tutoring. Students admitted to the program must attend a six-week summer program preceding their first year.

Multicultural Affairs
The Office of Multicultural Affairs fosters and enhances diversity in the Barnard College community. It seeks to create and promote an environment that is sensitive to the variety of perspectives and identities represented in the Barnard community, and encourages cultural exchange and dialogue on issues of personal identity, religious beliefs, racial and ethnic awareness through CORRIE, the Committee on Race, Religion, Identity & Ethnicity.

Office of Career Development (OCD)
The OCD staff is available to help students (and alumnae) through all stages of the career development process. OCD helps first-year students just beginning to think about a career, seniors getting ready to enter the world of work, alumnae looking to change careers and everyone in between. OCD coordinates internship programs, student employment and volunteer opportunities.

Residential Life and Housing
The Office of Residential Life and Housing is committed to providing a diversified and comprehensive residential experience.

Residential Computing Program
The Residential Computing Program supports students in connecting to Barnard's local area network (LAN) and in using computers in the dorms. The program is supported by Residential Computing Assistants (RCAs), undergraduate students who are trained in networking and computer support. This local area network grants users access to the internet, library resources, university resources and e-mail.

Student Government Association
All students are members of the Student Government Association (SGA), which elects a representative student government. SGA sponsors co-curricular activities, special events, and clubs reflecting the interests of the student body. The SGA webpage includes a listing of all student clubs and groups.

Student Health
A variety of services are available to help students stay healthy. They include: Alcohol Substance Awareness Program (ASAP), Counseling Services, Health Services, Nightline (Peer Counseling & Referrals), Well-Woman (Health Promotion Program).

Study Abroad
Barnard has a rich history and tradition of study abroad dating back to the 1930s. Today, students study abroad in more than 35 countries, from Australia to Tibet.
