Consortium on High Achievement and Success: Founded in 2000, CHAS is composed of 34 private, select liberal arts colleges and small universities dedicated to promoting high achievement, leadership and personal satisfaction of students, with a focus on promoting success among students of color.
“Minorities Striving and Pursuing Higher Degrees of Success (MS PHD’s) in Earth Systems Sciences” Initiative: MS PHD’S was established to provide professional development experiences that facilitate the advancement of minorities committed to achieving outstanding Earth system science careers.
Project Kaleidoscope: PKAL is an informal national alliance working to build learning communities for undergraduate students in sciences, mathematics, and engineering.
Supplemental Instruction: SI is an academic assistance program that utilizes peer-assisted study sessions in which students compare notes, discuss readings, and develop organizational tools and study skills.
The Earth Institute ADVANCE Program, Columbia University: Funded by the NSF, the ADVANCE program seeks to increase the participation and advancement of women in the sciences and engineering at CU through institutional transformation.
