Do you use more than one computer to... check your email? surf the internet? or word process? Did you know that you can bring your favorites, settings, and documents with you; without carrying a thing (or just something very small)?
Below you'll find a list of programs, extensions, and websites that can help you stay organized, even if you use more than one computer.
del.icio.us is a social bookmarking website -- the primary use of del.icio.us is to store your bookmarks online, which allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere, too. On del.icio.us, you can use tags to organize and remember your bookmarks, which is a much more flexible system than folders.
You can also use del.icio.us to see the interesting links that your friends and other people bookmark, and share links with them in return. del.icio.us is also a good search engine because you can use to to find the cool and useful bookmarks that everyone else has saved.
You can save bookmarks to your del.icio.us account by installing bookmarklets or a Firefox extension, both available in the "help" section on the del.icio.us site.
Portable Apps lets you carry entire applications with you, letting you use them on any Windows computer. You can save the applications (and all of your settings) on a USB key, iPod, portable hard drive, etc. The program is open source, and totally free.
The list of available applications is always growing, including Firefox, Gaim, Thunderbird, GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program), and OpenOffice

OS X FOSS portable applications are packaged so that you can carry them around on any portable device (like Portable Apps for Windows). When you open a Portable version of an application, an applescript is also launched that keeps the computer from writing application data to the harddrive and instead writes it to your USB Key or iPod or external hard drive.
Available applications include Firefox, Thunderbird, Adium, Cyberduck (FTP client), GIMP, OpenOffice, Safari, Mail, iCal, Address Book, iChat, and SyncPAppX, a program that helps you sync portable applications with local ones.

And, if you already have Gmail, there are plenty of useful Google services that you can add on to your account.
* Google Apps with the little beaker are part of Google Labs, which means they are still in development.
