Paper Materials

There are three components to this application which cannot be completed online. In order to make it easier for us to process these paper materials, we have made cover forms for you to attach to them below. Please read the instructions for each section carefully.

Essays and Resume

In selecting Academic Computing Experts it is our goal to form a staff of students who think on their feet and work cooperatively as well as independently. Use the following essays to display your confidence in computers, your ability to troubleshoot problems, and your communication skills. You must answer both questions and limit each answer to 250 words.

  1. Think of a past problem that you had using a computer, or a time you helped someone else with a computer problem. Describe the steps that you took to resolve the problem. Be specific and detailed.
  2. What work, volunteer, or other related experience have you had that would make you a good ACE? Explain.

Print out these essays and submit them in paper form. Also attach a copy of your resume to your essays and submit them all together along with the Essay and Resume Cover Form. If you need assistance in writing your resume, The Office of Career Development, located in 11 Milbank Hall (x4-2033), is available to help you.
