About SGA

Our Mission

All Barnard students are members of the Student Government Association (SGA) through the contribution of their student activities fees, which fund over 80 SGA recognized clubs and student programs. The SGA Representative Council, elected each spring by the student body, is the primary liaison between students and the administration.

The SGA advises on policy issues, coordinates tri-partite committees of faculty, administrators and students, and co-sponsors student programming. As both a funding and a governing board, the SGA works in collaboration with student groups to enhance campus life, affect change, instill a sense of Barnard pride, and promote community.

The SGA exists in order to enhance YOUR Barnard experience.

We hope that you will use our website to learn more about student life opportunities available to you as a Barnard student and as a member of the SGA.

Please stop by the SGA office in 304 Diana or send us an email (sga@barnard.edu) with any thoughts, concerns or suggestions you may have.

All the best for the upcoming year!
