Updates for Returning Students

BCIT made many improvements over the summer. For more information on the list of changes, visit our Announcements page.

Welcome First-Year and Returning Students to Barnard Student Computing!

New Students

Before connecting to the Barnard Network, you must complete the Mandatory Computer Setup.

BCIT provides two wireless networks: Barnard Guest (for visitors on campus, including Columbia students and faculty), and Barnard Secure (for members of the Barnard community). Wireless service on both Barnard networks is available everywhere on campus, except for the residence halls at Cathedral Gardens and 601 W. 110th St. To connect to Barnard Secure simply enter in your Barnard username and password when prompted.

Please visit the New Student Information page to get acquainted with Barnard Computing Services, learn how to activate and access accounts, and complete important things to do before and after arriving on campus.

First-Year Students! Please sign into gBear and take our First-Year Student Survey on Computing at Barnard. The results of this survey will supply us with vital information regarding students' computing needs and interests as well as with ways that we can provide optimal service.

Returning Students

Welcome Back! In trying to help support your student needs better you will notice some changes in various Computer Labs. Over the course of this summer we have added new printers in every lab to help alleviate some of your printer concerns, as well as upgraded computer equipment in both 616 and Plimpton labs.

As returning students and your experience using the various IT services provided to you, your feedback is important to us. Please feel free to provide us with feedback so that we can provide you with the best possible service.

For additional support,  you may use the following resources:
