Queer Awareness Month (QuAM) Co-Chair Application!

The CC/SEAS Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) and the Office of Student Life | Diversity Initiatives at Barnard College are currently accepting applications for 2014 Queer Awareness Month (QuAM) Committee. We are looking for a Co-Chair team of three (3) students who are interested and enthusiastic about contributing their ideas, creativity & time for the development of QuAM. Each team MUST consist of a member from Columbia College, Barnard College and the School of General Studies.

YOU MUST APPLY AS A TEAM

When choosing your Co-Chair team, please consider - the leadership and organizational styles of your other co-chairs - the vision each co-chair has for the month - diverse representation of student group involvement (and no student group involvement is fine too) The QuAM Co-Chairs will be appointed by the QuAM advisors and all other positions (including Treasurer) are selected through general review process. Co-Chairs are required to be in (or near) the city this summer for regularly scheduled planning meetings with the advisory group.

Save-the-Date: Celebration of Academic Excellence and Diversity

The Office of Academic Success and Enrichment Programs and Student Life | Diversity Initiatives cordially invites you to the 2014 Celebration of Diversity and Academic Excellence Graduation Reception.  This is a recognition program created to celebrate the academic and co-curricular achievements of seniors in the following communities:

CSTEP Program,

HEOP Scholars Program,

MMUF Scholars,

Seniors who self identify as students of color,

Seniors who self identify as members of the LGBTQIA community 

Seniors who self identify as first generation college students 

 

The Celebration of Diversity & Academic Excellence Graduation Reception will take place on Monday, May 19th from 12:30 - 2:00pm in James Room, Barnard Hall.

Each year the Columbia University Office of Multicultural Affairs hosts several graduation programs for various communities of seniors across the undergraduate schools. Student Life-Diversity Initiatives co-sponsors these events and Barnard students are welcome to participate!  Please contact the appropriate person to find out more info!
