Milbank
Hall
Milbank is home to the College's main administrative offices,
including Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Registrar;
several academic departments including psychology, anthropology,
and sociology; the Minor Latham Playhouse; and a greenhouse
used for scientific research.

Altschul
Hall
Barnard's main math and science building includes the departments
of biology, environmental science, physics, and chemistry.
3 Future site of the Barnard Nexus (former site of McIntosh
Center)
The Nexus is under construction from June 2007 through December 2008. The planned 70,000 square-foot mixed-use building will serve as both a center of student life and activity and a home to several of the College’s showcase programs, including art, architecture, and performance. The Nexus will be built on the site of McIntosh Center; a space in the Nexus will be dedicated to honor the legacy of President Millicent McIntosh. For more information, visit the Nexus website.

Lehman
Hall
Lehman's first three floors house Wollman Library. Barnard
students also have access to the Columbia University library
system, the eighth largest in the world. Lehman Hall overlooks
Barnard's lawn, which serves as a natural gathering spot
for students.

Barnard Hall
Barnard Hall houses the Held Lecture Hall, incorporating
the latest in information technology in an architecturally
restored space; the internationally known Barnard Center
for Research on Women; LeFrak Gymnasium; aerobics studios,
an indoor pool, and a weight room; and seminar rooms, classrooms,
and faculty offices. Adjoining Barnard Hall is the Dance
Annex, with studio space used by the dance department.

About 90 percent of Barnard students live in housing ranging
from traditional residence halls to apartments.

Dodge Fitness Center
Barnard and Columbia students use facilities that include
two gyms, a pool, and specialized spaces for squash, martial
arts, fencing, and more.

Low Memorial Library
No longer a library, Low is Columbia University's administrative
center.

Lerner Hall
Completed in 1999, this student center for Barnard and Columbia
students includes lounges, computer rooms, places to eat,
a 1,500-seat auditorium, and student-organization offices.

Butler Library
One of Columbia University's 23 libraries, Butler houses
one-third of the University's collection of more than seven
million volumes and has three floors used predominantly
by Barnard and Columbia undergraduate students.
