Institutional Research

Mission Statement

The mission of the Institutional Research Office is to assemble and analyze institutional data to support strategic planning and organizational effectiveness initiatives of the College. The Office is also responsible for reporting institutional data to various college publications and other data clearing-houses.

To fulfill its mission, the Institutional Research Office seeks to:

• Maintain high quality longitudinal information about Barnard and its peer institutions.
• Prepare analytical reports and other information for several constituents, including the Board of Trustees, such as Barnard’s annual Data Book
• Provide students, faculty, and senior administrative staff with analyses and information that form the basis of the major planning initiatives of the College
• Coordinate the design and implementation of both consortium related and internal surveys for operations and outcomes assessment.  Interpret and report the results of these surveys.
• Report the College’s yearly institutional data to various college publications and other data clearinghouses in a timely manner.
