Student Life runs a New York City ticket booth out of the office in 301 Diana Center. We sell discount movie tickets and discount tickets to Broadway shows, concerts, comedy clubs, and sporting events! Ticket booth hours are 10:00am - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Urban New York is a university-wide program designed to expose students to the sights and sounds of New York City by offering them FREE admission to events and programs in the area. These free tickets are available only to first-year and transfer students in the fall, but are open to the entire undergraduate population in the spring. Past events include Late Night with David Letterman; a variety of Broadway shows including Wicked, In the Heights, and The Lion King; dinner at Tavern on the Green, Nobu, and other NYC hot spots; sporting events like Knicks games; and Metropolitan and City Opera performances. Other campus programs include: the Block Party, Stress Free Zone, Halloween Fun Zone, World AIDS Day, and Trivia Bowl. In addition, we work collaboratively with student organizations on many campus-wide programs such as WBAR BBQ, Spirit Day, Midnight Breakfast and so much more!.
Student Life works with the Office of Multicultural Affairs at Columbia to assist in the facilitation of heritage month celebrations on campus. Advisors from both schools work with a student committee to plan and execute fun and educational events during each cultural month.
