Thank you for visiting the Career Development web site. We recognize the important role you and other family members play in your daughter's life, and we encourage your support as your daughter seeks internships and part-time jobs and begins to make decisions about her life after Barnard. We invite you to learn more about our office and our online resources. For more information on how you can participate in your daughter's Barnard experience, please see the main Parents page.
The mission of the Career Development Office is to help define the connection between a liberal arts education and life-work planning. We provide individual guidance to students and alumnae as they clarify their values, strengths, and interests so they can make informed career decisions. To become educated about career options and life choices, each Barnard woman is encouraged to participate in internships, community service, jobs, and career programming. Our goal is to develop and enhance the process of her learning to achieve a satisfying work life with an awareness of the implications of her work on the wider world.
