Cicero Speaking Contest

Monday, November 18, 2013
5:30 PM
Julius S. Held Auditorium, 304 Barnard Hall

Cicero, one of ancient Rome’s most famed orators, strived to “unite the tongue and the brain.” Barnard’s Speaking Fellows help students do just that by offering workshops and one-on-one sessions in which they can find, hone, and learn to use their intellectual voice effectively. This November’s Cicero Speech Contest brings Barnard’s best public speakers together for a lively competition in two categories: persuasive advocacy speech and impromptu speech. Come to be persuaded and entertained, and to meet promising young voices as they debate the topics that matter most.
