Barnard offers several possibilities for international students to come study on our campus, including for their full degree, for one academic year or for the spring semester.
Students from around the world can apply as first year students or transfer students to earn their undergraduate degree from Barnard. Currently, over 40 countries are represented by Barnard's diverse international student population.
Currently Barnard has agreements with the Institut d'Etudes Politiques ("Sciences Po") in France, the University of Edinburgh in Scotland, and UNSW in Australia which allow international students to study at Barnard for an entire academic year.
As part of Barnard College’s broad initiative to internationalize its campus, the College has created the Visiting International Students Program (VISP) for spring semesters in residence at our campus in New York City. Through a limited number of collaborative relationships with international universities, our partners send cohorts of 3-15 undergraduate students to Barnard to spend the spring semester as full-time visiting students.
