Assistant Professor, Early American History

The History Department at Barnard College, Columbia University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the field of early American history to 1820. The successful candidate is expected to offer introductory surveys on colonial North America and the American revolutionary/early Republic era, while also teaching courses within her/his area of specialization. The capacity to situate North America within a broader Atlantic or hemispheric context is an advantage, although not a requirement. Ph.D. must be in hand by the commencement of appointment in September 2015.
