Hewitt Hall

Hewitt Hall was built in 1925 and named for Abram Hewitt, Barnard’s second board chairman (1897-1902)

The Hewitt Dining Hall is located on the lower level and is accessible from the tunnel level of Barnard Hall. Dining Services is located on the mezzanine level (accessible via stairs from the first floor).

Location	The Quad (3009 Broadway)
Population	Primarily first-year students, with some upperclass students on the lower floors
Common Areas	TV/kitchenette lounges on each floor in Sulzberger; TV lounge in Sulzberger lobby; computer labs & music practice rooms in Sulzberger basement
Room Layout	Mostly singles (and a few doubles & triples). Corridor-style dorm rooms (floor plans)
Furniture	Bed (XL Twin), desk, chair, dresser, and wardrobe/closet space
Security	24-hour desk attendant at the front desk (phone number)
Internet	Wireless internet access
Cable	Students may arrange cable TV service with Spectrum Cable for a fee
Bathrooms	Shared floor bathroom, cleaned daily by Facilities. The 2, 4, 6, and 8th floor bathrooms are designated Gender-Inclusive and the 3, 5, and 7th floor bathrooms are designated for Women. A few rooms share a semi-private bathroom, which students are responsible for cleaning on their own.
Dining Hall	Located in the lower level of Hewitt Hall, accessible via Barnard Hall tunnel level. See Meal Plan Requirements
Laundry	Located on each floor in Sulzberger (more information)
Mail & Packages	All students receive mail & packages at the Student Mail Room in Altschul
Accessibility	Sulzberger and Brooks entrances are wheelchair accessible and the Hewitt elevator stops at floors 1-7. The 8th floor of Hewitt is reached by steps from the 8th floors or Sulzberger & Brooks and is not wheelchair accessible (those floors are accessible by the Sulzberger & Reid elevators)
AC	Hewitt does not have air-conditioning (with the exception of a few designated CARDS rooms). Students may not install window- or portable-ACs. Info about heating & cooling
