Payment Options
As you consider course options, you will also need to consider financing a Barnard education. We know that you want the very best, and we would like to help you consider the options. A summary of annual fees and alternative payment and federal loan options offered by Barnard are available.
In planning your budget, please note meal plan requirements for resident students.
These requirements are outlined in "Terms and Conditions of Residence Hall Living." Please note that Dining Dollars alone are not considered a meal plan.
For students to avoid a progressive late payment fee, invoices for the Fall term will be available July 5th online in the Bursar Student Account Center (BSAC) for payment by August 1th.
If you prefer not to pay Fall tuition and fee charges in full by the semester deadline of August 5th, we offer monthly payment plans that may offer you a realistic and attractive alternative. Please apply before the deadline to avoid Barnard's escalating late payment fees. (The fall semester five-month plans begins on July 1st, you must enroll by the payment deadline. Note that late fees will be assessed by the College after the deadline.)
If you are interested in applying for a Federal Direct Stafford Student Loan or a Federal Direct PLUS (Parent) loan, you may obtain information and applications from Barnard's Financial Aid Office.
You will be leaving Bursar and transferring to Financial Aid by clicking here.
For 2024-2025, Barnard's payment plan (five or four monthly payments due on the first of each month) is administered by third parties, Nelnet/Convera and Flywire. There is a $50 fee each semester for enrolling in the service. *You must enroll in the plan each term. For example, your Fall enrollment does not automatically transfer to the Spring term.* Note that neither Nelnet nor Flywire adjusts your budget amount without specific instructions. (If you wish to increase/decrease your budget to cover Barnard's charges, you must advise Nelnet or Flywire.) If you enroll in the Nelnet plan before issuing your e-bill, your plan will already be deducted from Barnard's invoice. If our e-bill still shows a balance after the deduction for Nelnet, your plan does not cover all charges.

International Funds Wire Transfer (non-US dollar accounts):
Although Barnard College does not accept direct wire transfers, it offers two options to streamline the tuition payment process for our students. Both options require you to wire funds to the processor, who then forwards the funds to the College. Check both to determine which is the best option for you:
1. Flywire (by peerTransfer): https://barnard.flywire.com.
2. Convera: https://students.convera.com/geo-buyer/barnardcollege#!/
Domestic Wire Transfer of US funds (US dollar accounts):

To protect your financial investment against the student's serious illness or accident resulting in the student's withdrawal before a semester is completed, consider the optional Tuition Insurance.
The Tuition Refund Plan is a private insurance program that supplements Barnard's refund policy for complete withdrawals. Subscribers are assured a refund throughout the term, even though Barnard's refund policy may have expired at the time of withdrawal. If you enroll in this optional plan, you are assured of an 80% refund of covered charges for medical leaves.
For more information on this optional program, visit GradGuard. You can also sign up when you visit Nelnet.
Plan participants are asked to contact their Plans to initiate the payment process. For plans requiring an invoice from the College, we recommend submitting the request to our office at bursar@barnard.edu at least ten days before the payment deadline.
Most plans will process payments by check. Payments by mail should be sent to:
