Financial Aid Application Documents
Application Forms
Applicants will be required to complete specific documents when applying for financial aid. All missing documents will be listed on a personalized Financial Aid Checklist. Applicants should only complete the documents listed on their checklist or requested by a member of our office. The documents listed on this page may not apply to all students.
Non-Filer Form for dependent students who did not file a tax return in 2023.
For parents who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who were not required to file a U.S. tax return.
For parents who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents and who were not required to file a tax return.
This form is requested by the Financial Aid Office if a parent is required to confirm a rollover listed on their tax return.

International applicants who are unable to submit the CSS Profile online may submit this form instead.
The Financial Aid Office will request this form if a student has not submitted primary home information on their CSS Profile.

Students may be required to submit this form to confirm additional income and benefits not reported on tax returns.

Barnard does not accept the College Board/IDOC version of the form.
Documentation of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required from applicants if their citizenship is not confirmed by FAFSA. This chart will help you determine which documents are acceptable forms of citizenship documentation.
Please Note: documentation is only required if you have received a citizenship comment on your FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR). If required, the document will appear on your Barnard Financial Aid Checklist.
This form may be requested in order to collect information pertaining to a family's monthly income sources and expenses.
Verification Forms
If your FAFSA is selected for federal verification, additional documents will be added to your checklist. These documents can also be found below.
Request your Tax Return Transcript from the IRS website.
Individuals who are required to submit a Tax Return Transcript from the IRS but are unable to obtain the document due to complications with the online IRS system or inability to receive documents by mail may complete and submit this form as an alternative to the requested transcripts. This form will only be accepted if a signed copy of the tax return has also been submitted.
Note: If both student and parent(s) are unable to submit tax return transcripts, separate forms must be completed by the student and the parent(s).
If you filed an Amended Tax Return, request your Tax Account Transcript from the IRS website.
Individuals who are required to submit a Tax Account Transcript from the IRS but are unable to obtain the document due to complications with the online IRS system or inability to receive documents by mail may complete and submit this form as an alternative to the requested account transcripts. This form will only be accepted if a signed copy of the tax return has also been submitted.

If you did not file a tax return, request a Verification of Nonfiler Letter from the IRS website.
The Verification Worksheet is only required if your FAFSA is selected for federal verification. Students who are required to complete this form will be notified by FAFSA and this form will appear on the Financial Aid Checklist.
Please note: If you are considered Independent on your FAFSA, you will need to complete the form for Independent Students. This form will be added directly to your Financial Aid Checklist.

Enrollment Forms
Forms that may be required from enrolling students are listed below. If a form is required, it will be added to the student's Financial Aid Checklist and the student will be informed by email.
Students who receive Barnard Grant aid should complete this form.
Students who receive Barnard Grant aid can complete this form to request additional assistance to cover their student health insurance fees.

Barnard Loan Application forms should only be completed if you have been offered a Barnard Loan in your financial aid decision letter. Barnard Loans are not available to all students.
