We are a forum for considering the world through the works and words of living artists.
Every fall semester, we invite artists from around the globe to come and present their work: they range from filmmakers to musicians to writers and everything between, and they come from all parts of the world. (Left: Professor Hisham Matar with filmmakers Andrea Cavazutti and Xu Xing.)
Based at Barnard College in Manhattan, New York City, the Barnard International Artists Series is a forum that considers the world through the works of contemporary artists and thinkers. Every year we invite writers, filmmakers, dancers, dramatists, visual artists, architects and composers from all over the world to speak about and show their work. The series was founded by its principle curator, the novelist, Hisham Matar.
ALL EVENTS ARE FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
