BCIT provides advice, quotes, installation and maintenance of desktop & laptop computers for faculty and staff. In general, the College purchases Dell PCs in standard configurations for staff; faculty may choose the same, or Apple units, according to preference (please see the Academic Department Computer Purchasing Policy on the Provost's web site).   Contact the BCIT Service Desk for a quote, or to discuss your particular computer needs.  (The full process can be seen at the Purchasing web site.)

The BCIT Service Desk has more limited scope of support for personal laptops owned by faculty and staff members. We can assist you with:

  • Accessing your Barnard email account
  • Installing site-licensed software approved for personal computers
  • Recommending companies which provide technical support for home computing
