Parents & Families

Please feel free to send questions to Parents and family members with additional questions about Barnard college resources are invited to review the College's page for parents and guardians.

Mentor a Barnard Student

Parents and family members have the opportunity to mentor current students through the Beyond Barnard Mentoring Program. Depending on your availability, location, and desired level of involvement, you can:

  • Meet in person with a student monthly as a member of Beyond Barnard's New York Network
  • Connect virtually with a student (via FaceTime or Skype) for conversations about careers, graduate and professional school, and more
  • Serve as a Mentor-on-Call and add yourself to a roster of alumnae and parents available to answer specific questions via phone or email
  • Come to campus and serve as a Beyond Barnard Mentor-in-Residence for a day of 30-minute appointments with students

Host an Internship, Externship, or Field Trip

If you or your organization can host Barnard interns (during the academic year or summer), externs (for short-term shadowing opportunities, or Field Trips (groups of 10-15 students), we would be happy to connect. Parents and families are among the most important sources of opportunities for experiential education.
