International students from all over the world comprise a vibrant and integral part of the Barnard community. Gretchen Young, Dean for International and Intercultural Student Programs, and Program Director Rachel Romesburg, are available to guide them in regard to their status as international students in the United States.
Every fall, the entering class of international students participates in orientation activities focused on their particular needs in order to assist their transition to student life in the United States. Throughout the academic year, there is programming on topics such as maintaining F-1 student status, on-campus jobs and internships, adapting to American academic and social culture, and work after graduating from Barnard. International students will also have many opportunities to share their home cultures with the campus community.
