Welcome to your Junior year!
As the Junior Class dean, my aim is to be a resource as you embark on your major (or finalize your decision), consider competitive fellowships and grants, and help with general queries or concerns. Each year brings something special to your experience and in your junior year, thoughts often turn to considerations for life and work beyond Barnard. For those who have declared their major, we can begin looking at opportunities that match your field of interest. There is a plethora of fellowships and grants that can assist with paying for graduate school, self-driven research projects, and/or teaching assistantships. The hope is that you've been thinking about such opportunities over the past year or so but if you haven't, now is the time to learn more. There are also opportunities for summer research or language immersion that may fit your needs and goals.
Check in regularly with the Junior Class Blog to keep up-to-date with announcements, deadlines, and workshops. If there's something you'd like addressed, don't hesitate to let me know.
I look forward to meeting you over the course of this year, and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or to make an appointment with me, visit my online calendar.
