City Year Site Visit

Friday, November 18, 2011
1PM to 3PM
City Year's New York office (20 West 22nd Street)

City Year is a nonprofit organization that unites young people of all backgrounds for a year of full-time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world.  As tutors, mentors and role models, these diverse young leaders make a difference in the lives of children and transform schools and neighborhoods.  City Year is a proud member of AmeriCorps.

At City Year's 21 locations across the United States, corps members serve full-time for 10 months, each providing more than 1,700 hours of service.  Corps members serve in schools as tutors, mentors, role models and leaders of after-school programs.  As a City Year corps member, you will help students stay on track and get back on track to graduate by helping them improve course performance, attendance and behavior.  City Year provides real world experiences of incomparable value in terms of personal and professional development.

Barnard Career Development and the New York City Civic Engagement Program are hosting a site visit to City Year's office.  You will have the opportunity to meet current City Year staff and corps members, and learn about volunteer opportunities, internships, and post graduate corps member positions.

Barnard students of any major and grade level are welcome to visit City Year's main office for a tour, information session, and interactive leadership training!  Please RSVP to attend via NACElink (Go to "Events" --> "Information Sessions").
