DHC Collage Installation and Reception

-
DHC (Milstein 103)

During the Digital Humanities Center’s 2021 Open House, students, staff, and faculty of the Barnard community came together to contribute to a collaborative collage dedicated to the memory of Ntozake Shange. This collage was directly inspired by the “Octavia Butler” and “June Jordan” collages created by Barnard alum, Alexis Pauline Gumbs ‘04, as a part of her Black Feminist Breathing Collage series. On Thursday, December 2nd, the DHC will be holding an opening for the installation of these three collages at 4pm.

Please come join us to view this installation and celebrate the legacy of Black feminist thinkers such as Shange, Butler, Jordan, Gumbs, and more! Take-away drinks and snacks will be provided. Please note masks are still required in the space.

If you cannot make the reception, the installation will be open to view during the DHC's open hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-8 pm.

This event is hosted in partnership with the Barnard Archives and the Zine Library.
