Gender Amplified Music Festival

Produced by BCRW Alumnae Fellow Ebonie Smith '07
Saturday, September 28, 2013
The Diana Center

Gender Amplified celebrates, supports, and unites women in the world of music production, in the hopes of creating both a more vibrant music industry and greater opportunities for women within it. Despite many successes, women working in music production remain largely unrecognized. Young women interested in entering the field are rarely given opportunities to get involved in the technical and business side of music, which limits their autonomy and their careers. Looking to turn the tide, the Gender Amplified Music Festival brings together girls and young women who want to learn more about music production for a day of discussions about music, gender, education and careers; production workshops; networking sessions; and live musical performances. The festival features Abhita Austin, Missy Cohen, DJ Reborn, Maureen Mahon, Barb Morrison, Angela Piva, Brian Smith, Ebonie Smith, THEESatisfaction, and more!
