With First Lady Chirlane McCray and President Sian Beilock
Monday, January 28 * Note this new date!
6:00 PM
James Room, 4th floor Barnard Hall

Please join President Beilock as we welcome First Lady Chirlane McCray to Barnard for the Gracie Book Club. Presented by First Lady McCray and the Gracie Mansion Conservancy in collaboration with ThriveNYC—“Reading to Thrive,” the 2018-2019 series explores the pervasive stigma that surrounds mental illness by focusing on books that offer an opportunity to challenge our biases and stereotypes through the power of storytelling. With this knowledge we can become better stewards of our own mental health and healers in our community. Join author Nana-Ama Danquah and moderator professor of psychology and Africana Studies, Colin Wayne Leach for a discussion of Willow Weep for Me: A Black Woman’s Journey Through Depression, a Memoir.
