Join Barnard art history and visual arts department to discuss the relationship between art and relevant issues of our times. In its third year at Barnard, Here/Say has invited seven individuals from a range of disciplines to consider ways that we frame the world around us, and how those actions, in turn, affect that world and our experience of it. Frames can be useful. Yet sometimes framing behaviors generate significant issues.
The first conversation in the series, Framing Part I [Classification], featuring independent curator Jacqueline Mabey and artist Joiri Minaya to consider the motivations and repercussions of naming and framing behaviors. Moderated by Lizzy De Vita ’08.
