Rickie Solinger, historian and curator of  “Claiming Citizenship: African Americans and New Deal Photography” and Dorian Warren, associate professor of political science and international and public affairs at Columbia University’s School for International and Public Affairs, discuss the legacy of Franklin Roosevelt’s epic New Deal reforms, and today’s need for similar programs—a new New Deal—to address the challenges of the 21st-century. Kimberley Johnson, associate professor of political science at Barnard, moderates. A reception and opportunity to view the exhibit will follow. “Claiming Citizenship” will be on view on the 3rd Floor of Barnard Hall from Friday, March 15 through Monday, April 15.
