Stolyarov (above), a Russian-born American composer, conductor, singer, and educator, presents “The Winter Road,” based on the eponymous poem by Alexander Pushkin. The piece, sung in Russian, tells the story of a lonely traveler on a cold, quiet, moonlit road. The traveler, struggling forward through the darkness and the frost, cherishes his recollections of love and home, both of which are far away in a distant land.
