Join the Office of the VP for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, along with the Writing and Speaking Fellows, and Being Barnard as we welcome the TMI Project to join our campus community for a performance and series of storytelling workshops.
We have invited TMI Project (a nonprofit that teaches true storytelling and live performance workshops) to lead three, 2-hour storytelling workshops (virtually) to guide participants through exercises designed to help explore personal experiences in a new light by writing about them, boldly. The workshops support change at individual and community levels and help people to fight shame and stigma.
These workshops will focus on storytelling and writing as forms of healing. Storytelling is a means for sharing and interpreting experiences. Studies have shown that writing about one's personal experiences can be both healing and empowering.
The storytelling workshops will be offered on the following dates/times:
Thursday, February 11th from 4-6pm
Tuesday, February 16th from 5-7pm
Thursday, February 18th from 4-6pm
Register here for the storytelling workshop series.
You can participate in all three workshops or just one—it’s your choice.
This series of events is made possible by the Inclusion Grant sponsored by the Council on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, which helps fund projects and events that foster and enhance inclusion efforts across the Barnard community and exemplifies the priorities of diversity, equity and inclusion.
