Barnard College President Debora L. Spar announced today that she will resign in March of 2017, after almost nine years leading the college, to become president and chief executive officer of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
Artist Sabra Moore, a key figure in the feminist movement since the 1960s, will read from her newly released memoir Openings: A Memoir from the Women’s Art Movement, New York City 1970-1992 (New Village Press) Nov. 1 at 12 p.m. in 302 Barnard Hall, as a part of the Barnard Center for Research on Women's Lunchtime Lecture Series.
With the start of the acceptance season at hundreds of colleges and universities nationwide, Barnard College, the country’s most selective women’s college, is preparing for historical changes to the curriculum, the campus and the community.
The performance, presented by the Barnard College Department of Theatre, is one of few Indian productions to be performed in the United States.
Slaughter will also receive the College's highest honor, the Barnard Medal of Distinction
