The Sibyl Levy Golden '38 Ecological Learning Center, which sits atop The Diana Center, is one of a growing number of green roofs around New York City that are providing insulation, absorbing runoff, and improving energy efficiency. Together with their students in Barnard's biological sciences department, Prof. Hilary Callahan and Prof. Krista McGuire are using The Diana Center's green roof and similar spaces throughout the city to investigate the ecological and biological benefits of these sky-high gardens.
