The White House today announced acclaimed philosopher and novelist Rebecca Newberger Goldstein '74 and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri '89 were named among ten distinguished recipients of the 2014 National Humanities Medal. President Barack Obama will confer the medal in a Sept. 10 ceremony in the East Room of The White House.
