Barnard ranked third among small schools on Teach For America's list of colleges and universities with graduating seniors joining the organization's 2011 teaching corps.  Admission to Teach For America this year was even more selective than in previous years, with a record 48,000 individuals applying to join and an 11 percent acceptance rate. Congratulations to the 21 members of Barnard's Class of 2011 who will spend the next two years teaching in underserved schools around the country!

For the past four years, Barnard has ranked among the top five contributing colleges and universities of its size.  Throughout Teach For America's 20-year history, over 130 Barnard alumnae have taught as corps members.
