Dear Members of the Barnard Community,

The College continues to support all members of our community who have concerns about the recent developments in U.S. immigration policy. On Monday, September 25, we will present information sessions on immigration policy led by legal expert David Ware, followed by private consultations with members of the Barnard community who have specific concerns, whether permanent residents, holders of visas, or undocumented and possibly affected by the recent announcement about the changes to the DACA program.

At the information sessions, Mr. Ware will address the latest news on the DACA program, anticipated changes in enforcement practices, immigration status and travel risks, among other issues. He will offer brief one-on-one consultations.

INITIAL CONSULTATIONS

For faculty, students or staff who have specific questions but cannot attend the September 25 presentation and consultation day, the College can offer an initial consultation with outside immigration counsel. The College will cover the cost of the initial consultation, which can be scheduled at a time that is convenient for the community member.

Students wishing to arrange for a private consultation should work through Wendy Garay, associate dean for international and intercultural student programs, at wgaray@barnard.edu. Faculty should contact Giorgio DiMauro, associate dean for international and global strategy, gdimauro@barnard.edu.
