The Liberal Arts curriculum at Barnard enables women to make connections and take risks. Critical thinking is at the center of this curricular experience, giving students the tools to learn how to learn.  With close faculty-student interaction, students think across disciplinary boundaries in innovative ways—inside and outside the classroom. The Foundations curriculum, which is committed to the liberal arts while emphasizing global inquiry, social difference, and technology, emphasizes six modes of thinking. Barnard women are energized and prepared to become leaders who will change the world.
