Last weekend, Barnard and Summer on the Hudson hosted Make Some Noise: A Celebration of Women and Music. The evening's lineup, selected by a citywide audition process, highlighted young women working to make their mark in one of the most vibrant music scenes in the world.
The evening was kicked off by Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, who praised Barnard College's commitment and ongoing contributions to the City. Barnard's Vice President for Communications, Joanne Kwong, and Summer on the Hudson's Executive Director, Zhen Heinemann, served as emcees. Drawing a crowd of over 600 people to Riverside Park's Crabapple Grove, the concert featured Barnard first-year Eden Ariel '19, along with Sofi Rox (Columbia University '18), Stephanie Chou (Columbia University '09), Underground System (New York University) and The Liberté Big Band (The City College of New York).
