Prof. Kadambari Baxi, Professor of Professional Practice in Architecture, was recently highlighted by The Art Career Project as one of 15 notable art professors in New York City. The list includes professors who not only influence the art world through their own work, but also by supporting and preparing the next generation of artists in the classroom. An excerpt:

Baxi is well-known in New York City architecture citcles, and has been a member of the Barnard faculty for almost a decade. She teaches architectural design studios and senior seminars and is well-liked by her students for not only her obviously intimate knowledge of the subject material, but also for her willingness and patience when it comes to helping her students learn."

Prof. Baxi joined Barnard's faculty in 2005. Her current work focuses on design, new technologies and global cultural relationships. She is the co-author of two books: Multi-National City: Architectural Itineraries (2007), and Entropia (2001). Her work has been exhibited and presented widely, most recently at the Wyspa Institute of Art in Gdansk, Poland and the Van Alen Institute in New York.
